Anybody know about grants for central heating and windows?

I have a property which was converted in to flats twenty years ago but the conversion stopped before any heating was put in. There isn’t any hot water or heating in either flat so is it possible to get a grant to install boilers, and would it also be possible to get a grant for double glazed windows?

Thanks grants for central heating

Shaun

Ha ha yes very true. You get to a year later after they've fitted the loft insulation & one cannot remember which company did it, as u get condensation problems.
I used to have some standard text on this when was doing lots of them: It was something along the lines 'Please do not fit this insulation, unless u have sent qualified surveyor round, that will determine where we need soffit vents, air-bricks, or ridge-tile vents, as your insulations can cause condensation some time afterwards'. When I did remember to send this text, they did slow down a bit & take things a bit more seriously.

But I know exactly what u mean, I used to get sick of the calls of the young 17 year old, desperate to sign the house up for free loft insulation NOW.

Go to Green Deal Central and ask for their help and advice. They did a great job on one of my more difficult projects.

Good comments, but don't forget the Energy Company Obligation.

Green Deal Central will look at ECO first as the source of funds as it covers all costs if tenant eligible and then if not will look to Green Deal to fund all or part of the works.
