Landlord Accreditation Scheme closing?

Hello, I’m interested in what your opinions are about this. I’ve received an email from my local Accreditation Scheme, advising that the council can’t afford to run it any longer.

A decision is being made on 28th February!

We apparently will get a pro rata refund of the annual fee.

I wonder why it was there in the first place and if the council are struggling, what will be the next financial attack on us be?

Thank you,

M

Accreditation scheme an absolute waste of time and money.
I’ve made the mistake in the past of jumping through hoops to keep the Council happy and in some instances wasting money on ridiculous demands.Never again.
I’ve never once,in over 25 years been asked if either I or a property are accredited

I personally do benefit from Accreditation as some boroughs offer £50 discount on Licence Fees & on dealing with Councils it helps especially if leasing to them direct or via the likes of Capital Letters.
If you want to retain your Accreditation status, for London Landlords there's the LLAS https://www.londonlandlords.org.uk/community/register/ and for properties nationwide consider the National Residential Landlords Assoc accreditation https://www.nrla.org.uk/training-academy/accreditation/cpd-activities/accreditation-overview

No hate plz

I'm DASH accredited, only because my council pay for it so it's free for me. But no one is ever asked about it or even knows what it is.

My understanding is DASH Landlord Accreditation is a voluntary accreditation scheme for landlords in the East Midlands & DASH is a joint working initiative with local authorities, landlords & tenants. I think DASH stands for Decent & Safe Homes.
