Is a vote for Reform the logical choice for landlords?

Is a vote for Reform the logical choice for landlords?

I’d appreciate your thoughts because it seems to me that the only realistic hope for landlords teaching the two major political Parties a lesson is to vote Reform in the hope of a Labour  / Reform coalition. Surely that would put the cat among the pigeons!

Reform appears to me to be the only UK political party happy to fight for landlords and lower rates of tax.

Am I missing something?

I found this on their website

HOUSING

The UK population has grown by over 1.3 million in just 2 years. Yet only 425,000 homes have been built. The Office of National Statistics forecast the population to grow by nearly 7 million between 2021 and 2036, putting huge pressure on housing.

Mass immigration is the main factor in this. Other factors that have damaged housing supply are overly bureaucratic planning regulations that delay decisions and add huge cost.

Critical reforms needed in the first 100 days:

Housing tick

Review the Planning System.
Fast track planning and tax incentives for development of brownfield sites, including unused offices and vacant high street properties. Review system of Section 106 Developer Contributions for infrastructure such as schools and surgeries to accelerate house building.

Housing tick

Reform Social Housing Law.
Prioritise local people and those who have paid into the system. In parts of the UK almost half of all social housing is occupied by someone born overseas. Foreign nationals must go to the back of the queue. Not the front.

Housing tick

Scrap the 2019 Tax Changes for Landlords.
The tax system should encourage smaller landlords into the rental markets. Not penalise them.

Housing tick

Abolish the Renters’ (Reform) Bill.
Existing legislation was adequate to address bad practices. Instead, we will boost the monitoring, appeals and enforcement process.

Thereafter:

Housing tick

Incentivise Use of New Construction Technology.
Such as modular construction, and smart infrastructure.

Housing tick

More Homegrown Qualified Traders.
New apprenticeships and vocational courses will increase the supply of skilled, well-paid workers to replace cheap overseas labour.

Housing Pledges Costs = £ Neutral

Spoiled votes are counted and reported.

Agreed. The total number of spoiled votes is announced by the Returning Officer at the announcement of the election results. They normally represent under 0.5% of votes cast and only re-examined where they might decide a very close result - the decision as to their validity being ultimately decided by the Returning Officer following discussion with the relevant candidates. The election rarely has a voter turn out over 70%, so that the missing 30% could frequently decide the outcome if they had made the effort to vote. I doubt that winning candidates take any notice of what is written on ballot papers, as they would only have sight of them in a very close result.

I know Reform is most landlord friendly based on their manisfesto but should we really be voting for this party?

I am voting for party not individual. Reform is the only party has sensible policies, on housing, NHS and immigration just to name a few. they're also a relatively new and small party, needs to recruit lots of candidates to represents all constituencies. It's not easy to recruit large number of candidates in such a short period of time. Unfortunately bad candidates could smear party's reputation. I really do hope people will see pass the smear campaign and vote for reform. make this country great again.

He was a canvasser, not a candidate. I’m pretty sure if Channel 4 were to follow Labour and the Lib Dem’s canvassers with the same vigour they would find similarly distasteful people within their ranks too, albeit with anti British comments.

Reform will at least turn the clock back 10 years in the rental market. It is better than anything that Labour is offering and Conservatives are dishing. So the choice is obvious for a landlord.

These are the personal views of a canvasser, not a Reform representative. Labour have some very nasty MPs and representatives and supporters, let alone canvassers. I recall a well known comedic supporter suggesting acid should be thrown at Farage.

News out that Reform are investigating as this canvasser may be an actor who specialises in “rough voices”. Reform are looking to see if there is more to this than meets the eye
