I am delighted to announce that all shares we sold by 11am on Monday 24th August 2015.

The giant leap forward that seems to have inspired our investors has been the announcement of our intention to offer advertisers the ability to make their properties appealing to both landlords and owner-occupiers. You will recall from the business plan that we will soon be offering an option to include advertising on Rightmove and Zoopla at no extra cost, and without having to pay any agency fees when properties are sold, because we don’t charge them.

The business model is also appealing to letting agents because it gives them an opportunity to help their clients who have decided to sell, as well as attracting new lettings and management clients in the form of enquiries from potential purchasers. Perhaps the extra commission they could charge to their clients for this service has also crossed their minds?

I updated the Property118 Portal business plan on Sunday 16th August for the following reasons:- Revised Property118 Business Plan

  1. Revised Property118 Business PlanIn view of my intentions to sell my own property portfolio and my home, and to emigrate to a Mediterranean tax haven.
  2. In view of changes in market conditions.
  3. In view of new innovation we are working on.

I am NOT retiring and will continue to be the figurehead of Property118 regardless of where I am located. All I need is access to the internet as I meet less than .1% of Property118 members in person.

The business plan is still available to download by completing the form below, however, there are no more shares available for sale, sorry.

Hi Mark
Where do you intend to park the cash? I assume that you will want to avoid a government moving the goal posts on you yet again.

I've not decided on that yet Paul but needless to say it will be spread around in several countries.

The July issue of the National Landlords Association magazine, written before the Budget came out said that landlords would be pleased by the Election result. No UK landlord who has not spent the past three months on another planet feels that way now.

At the risk of using intemperate language it feels as if George Osborne is taking a baseball bat to some of his most loyal supporters. With graduated pain and as we approach 2020 with the likelihood of interest rate rises, he will add some nails to it to make sure maximum damage is caused to those who have borrowed money to invest. Even if his disastrous tax policy is reversed, there will remain massive questions about trust and competence that it is hard to see being answered.

I am attending a function on Friday with my MP, a Conservative, whom I have known for over 35 years. It may well be my last attendance at such an event. Like Mark, I must seriously consider my loyalty to a country that can behave so capriciously and unfairly. I feel utterly betrayed.

Like you Ian, I (along with a number of other prominent property owners in the region) have been courted by the Conservative Party for some years now. They have received much in the way of donations from our group, yet now we are left questioning their motives and our loyalty. September will see our latest 'jolly' to the Carlton Club for a luncheon with various ministers speaking afterwards. This will be an opportune moment to question their motives and whether we can continue with our support for an anti-landlord, anti-investment, anti-business party...

Hi - I live in Lithuania and the lovely people here do not charge any tax on pensions!
I would like to sell my portfolio but having done my sums the amount of CGT I would have to pay does not seem to make this viable.

Hi Maggie

Have a look at our Tax section and contact one of our recommended tax advisers. I think you will be very pleasantly surprised.
