hi.. scenario: tenant moved in just over 2m, moved in with a ferrett, two cats and a dog, no written permission granted. Informed agent, who wrote a letter informing them they were made aware of pets in the house, and they will be liable for any damage from their deposit. We have emailed agent to ask for £150 top up security deposit, still no response from agent. Anyone has any other ideas way forward? thanks

Hi Mark, I agree with Peter Lewis' article of 6 Dec 12 regarding Landlord Accreditation-What's the Point? I can't see cash strapped LA's doing this for free. Would it not be great if your website could be set up to act like Trip Advisor, so that tenants could post favourable comments on the website. It would need to be selective though, so that it would not be open to abuse. Also I don't think tenants would want their own personal email addresses to be published on the website, just attributable to something like "Mr & Mrs M, Romford" etc. Alternatively, if landlords who receive favourable comments direct from tenants could post those on the website, that would be great. You would need some sort of validation process though to stop unscrupulous landlords (not there are any 🙂 ) from posting their own made-up comments.
