Aggressive Twitter virus wreaks havoc – what to do

The virus comes in the form of a Twitter Direct Message from somebody you know  and says “your not going to believe it… you’re in this photo album.”  I’ve not added the link for obvious reasons but it takes you to a “Phishing” site.

My virus protection picked up on this and issued an immediate warning but by then it was too late but I didn’t know that until this morning. The virus had systematically sent the same Direct Message to many of my followers.  It might have sent it to them all, I only know of the ones who’ve contacted me.

I got the virus from a chap who I know and trust who is in the photography business so I had no reason not to open it.  Being a bit of a party animal I suspect many of my followers will have opened the Direct Message appearing to come from me too.

I’ve changed my password on Twitter and other accounts where I’ve used the same password.  I’m not aware of anything else I should be doing but if you know please comment below.  Please DO NOT direct message me on Twitter please, paranoia is at a high at the moment.
