It is official the 2017 General election will be a Hung Parliament.

What Does this mean for Landlords?

With the two major parties both being Anti-Landlord could this be a Good thing?

Will any new minority Conservative or Coalition Government find it difficult to implement further new Anti-Landlord agendas?

What would potentially a Softer Brexit mean and possibly retaining some form of Freedom of movement?

We wait to see in the coming hours days and months, but what do readers think?

Property118 Poll Got It Right – AGAIN!

Below are the final results from our election Poll.

I believe this clearly demonstrates that landlords who read Property118 are representative of the whole of society, which is very different to the way media try to pigeon hole us.

Yes. I wrote to him last night and would encourage others to do likewise.

Insurer if they had any sense would have to have some kind of no claims discount.

Yes Dr Beck, i'm going to craft an email today, best show early force to show there are alarming problems i think, the more noise he gets the more he will realize that this isn't just opinion but real problems and concerns.
What points did you share with him Dr Beck?

The most remarkable comment in that piece for me is Generation Rent saying most tenants get their deposit back in full! Haven't they spent years slagging off landlords who supposedly make 'spurious' claims regarding damage and cleaning to avoid returning deposits to tenants

Hi Mike. I think short and sweet is good so I sent him a link to my report on s24, a link to an article showing 50-75 votes going the other way would have secured a Tory victory and pointed out how many landlords didn't vote for the Conservatives because of s24. Later, I am going to send him a summary of the views of the ICAEW as he is also a chartered accountant. All the best. Ros

The most remarkable bit for me is this from Generation Rent;

"It is concerning that some versions of this system involve insurers pursuing tenants to recover any money they pay out to landlords."

Scum tenants should be allowed to damage properties, leave them in a filthy state and the other decent tenants should pick up the tab via higher insurance premiums. Unbelievable.

Hi Ros,
Would you be able to send that link to the article you mention in your post? (50-75 votes going the other way)?
many thanks in advance!

I don't doubt that at least some of the people who support House Price Crash are rogue tenants, though I've always believed Generation Rent to be run by fairly reasonable people, albeit of course I don't share their views.

As I live in London, I'm just off to St Clement's Church, near Shepherd's Bush to leave donations for the #GrenfellTower victims. Anyone who wants to donate can follow via #GrefellTower , #GrenfellHelp and 95 Sirdar Rd.
