In 2010, Manni Chopra took a sabbatical to pursue a career in property. She set up her own business, Chopra Property Group, which has now acquired property worth more than £5 million in London and the South East.

Manni has now won the HMO Property Deal of the Year (six rooms or less) award for the Property Investors Awards.

The award recognises individuals who are ambitious and achieve first-class results.

Manni first ventured into property when she secured two HMOs in 2011 in Bracknell using some savings. She decided to become an HMO owner because they offered better cash flow than buy-to-lets and to grow her property business.

Chopra Property specialises in providing luxury accommodation to professional people working in the Thames Valley area.

All rooms come with en-suites, fridge-freezers and breakfast bars, allowing each tenant more privacy, space and facilities to be more independent in the house.

There is also an eco-friendly boiler with a Megaflo hot water heating system. There is CCTV in communal areas and near the front and back doors, which provides added security for residents.

Over the last 12 months, there has been a 100% occupancy rate in the company’s properties. Many of their clients have lived in their homes for more than five years.

Customer service is a key focus for the company with the aim to always exceed the expectations of customers living in their properties.

Manni says that whilst the company owns the property, it is the client’s home for the duration of their stay.

She adds that the company prefers using the words clients/customers rather than tenants. Manni says that as a professional landlord, she is in the business of providing a valuable service to the professional sector.

The company is committed to raising the standard and providing accommodation with well-made fixtures and fittings, quality management and professional standards.

In the future, the group wants to provide more amenity space in rooms and communal areas and more energy-efficient sources supplying their properties.
