Heat Genius, Good Investment?

Heat Genius, Good Investment?

I have been a landlord for approximately 3 years.

I have a question about a possible investment, it’s a remote controlled heating system which enables the user to heat up specific locations in the household, as opposed to the whole household simultaneously. It’s supposed to save the user money in the long term (& apparently really convenient) and it was recommended to me by a dear friend (he said he bought it off a company called ‘Heat Genius).

I want your opinions on it, what do you think about this investment?

Has anyone had any experience with ‘Heat Genius’ or any other companies which do the same thing?

Thanks

Hi Guys,

thank you for the replies.

Steve has mentioned that the controlling device is an app this is something that is attracting me, I can have control on the go without having to worry about carrying something around.

I pay for the bills in my properties, so cost saving is important to me. I am honest with my tenants and try and be as open as possible, when I mentioned the idea of having some control they did not seem concerned.

I think at the end of the day as long as you are willing to put in the time and effort into something you will reap the reward, I am willing to take responsibility but I think after a few weeks we will get the most out the auto programmes.

I also looked into Honeywell but from what I can see they don't offer an app and paying £100+ to replace it is pricey.

I have many students in many of my properties and over the breaks a lot of them tend to go away or 'home', but we've had incidents in the past where timers are left on (and I have to foot the bill). And over the winter it will be handy to keep the right amount of heating going to reduce risk of pipes freezing without being charged for constant heating..
