Gone for Good is the handy app that makes it easier for landlords to donate unwanted goods to charity shops in your local area.

It’s a great way of getting rid of clutter, especially if you are selling a furnished property, and you’ll help a good cause at the same time.

Specialist landlord insurance provider Just Landlords and news portal Landlord News have put together a helpful infographic to take you through the steps, from downloading the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, to having your items picked up from a local charity shop to encourage landlords to get rid of their old furniture and household items in an ethical way. The infographic can be seen at the foot of this article.

So how does it work?

It really is that simple – all you need to do is take photos of the goods you want to donate, select the category and roughly how much they were when you bought them, and choose which charity you want to donate them to.

Getting rid of your unwanted items in this manner helps to stop saleable goods ending up in landfill, so you’re also doing something beneficial for the environment.

In addition, it helps to prevent the damage and thefts that charity shops often face, so you know that they’re getting your donations in one piece.

Downloading the app costs nothing and you won’t be charged for the charity shops coming to pick up your items – could it be any easier to clear your property of clutter?

Gone for Good is also useful if you’re moving house, as you can select the home clearance option.
