We are asking all landlords to complete this Poll.

Oops! We could not locate your form.

We are also extremely interested in your views so please post comments.

For example, you may well despise what the Conservative Government has done and you may well mistrust them but will any other party be better?

If landlords vote for minor parties might this hand a win to Labour?

Do you think a coalition Government is likely, and if so between which parties?

Which party would you least prefer to be elected and why?

Could not voting hand this election to Labour?

It looks like they all have bought into us being greedy doing no repairs abusing our position. It would be nice if somebody actually looked at what all the decent landlords have to cope with and for small returns.

The rent rises are starting to filter through don't think they have seen the half of it yet all depressingly predictable

London is skewing the figures as rents are on a decline I think

Up north where I operate rents are rising all the time just re let a house for 125 pcm more than the last time there's more scope as London where already sky high.

It is not a like for like index.
I use Homelet so my rents will be included in that report.
I have been selling off low performing, higher end properties and increasing rents on the rest.
So whilst my average rent has fallen, my like for like rents have increased 10% plus.
That is not reflected in the index.
I'll continue deleveraging and increasing rents even though now largely unaffected.

My interpretation is that when the 1st tax bills and dragging into the higher tax band occurs for the uneducated landlords, the fun will start.

That's a lot of landlords who don't have the skill set or currently can't get a concise argument across, that will either rush to sell off or will raise rents and complain like they have been mauled by a pit bull.

Couple that with any rise in interest rates and its oblivion time and major headlines.

We just have to wait for the tax summaries to come on the screens on the 31st January, 2019.

Has anyone bothered to read the comments on the Guardian article? It seems we are greater public enemy that ISIS terrorists. There is absolute zero understanding from the general public. The Government achieved what they wanted and scored brownie points for that.

The comments aren't from the general public!
They are from the same bitter and twisted few that comment on every housing issue, no one takes them seriously outside of their own little jerk circle.

Very typical of the 'Guardianistas' and the bias the Guardian editorial has against Landlords.

The Government just played up to this when it introduced Clause24 (now Sec.24)

I am surprised how little comment there has been regarding the Labour 'Garden Tax' - to me it looks a lot like 'Landlord Tax'. The plan seems to be to replace the council tax with a property tax payable BY THE OWNER - this last bit is important as I assume this will mean that ownes of properties occupied by currently exempt persons(e.g. Students) will suddenly be liable for the equivalent of full council tax. They of course are selling it as a boost to all tenants as the 'greedy landlords' will pay, not them!

Even if this is not used as an excuse to ramp up the cost, landlord would have to impose a rise equivalent to the council tax and the cost of deductions such as the tax and nic!

I am very tempted to warn my tenant about the consequecnes of voting labour in, but I suspect my warning would be used against me at some point!
