The Government with help from the big six energy companies has released funding for free energy-saving measures for home-owners, landlords and the benefit of tenants to include the installation of:

Electric heaters, Electric Heating systems, Gas boilers, Gas central heating systems, Cavity wall insulation (new beads), Solid wall external and internal insulation, Underfloor insulation and Room in roof insulation.

Soon they will be backing grants for; Solar Panels, Heat pumps and Windows

I am a surveyor and this is great news for help with energy efficiency improvements.

Mark

I presume this will exclude Scotland as the Green Party prop up the SNP. The Greens have refused to support any deal that promotes any fossil fuel burning device. Grants and cash back deals have vanished due to the Green party for replacement gas boilers even in homes with low EPC ratings. Its a case of the tail wagging the dog.

How do we access the funding?

We have a number of tenanted properties that could do with new boilers/replacement heating systems, new windows and doors etc.

Would landlords have to apply for this directly or are tenants able to apply as well?

Lesley Thomas, I'm also keen to learn from Mark how landlords apply for these grants, for the same reasons as you.
Over to you Mark?

Being at the extreme scurrilous end of the landlord spectrum we have completed our boiler replacement programme, thanks a bunch.

Hi Colin, thank you for requesting more information.
I am a surveyor based in Bournemouth Dorset and have a number of companies that I will be doing the survey work for and on behalf of the big six energy companies.
If you go onto the Gov.UK site and look up find energy grants it will then take you to the page and on it there is a highlighted part ‘home energy grants’. Click on that it will then take you to:
Simple Energy Advice “Home energy grants “
It will ask for your post code.
I operate across the whole of the south coast and into London.
Try
http://Www.gov.scot
Greener Scotland
Home energy Scotland- advice.est.uk
Eco Measures ltd
Greener uk surveyors ltd
Boiler grants.org.uk

Good luck

If Benefits are applied from yourself or the tenant you can go route 1 or route 2 if on what’s called LA FLEX not based on benefits but type of property and the persons living in the property and their income and number of children etc.
If that makes sense..
http://www.gov.uk will have more info if req.
Terms and conditions will always apply.
Then it’s permissible with your consent if requesting work etc.

Regards and best of luck
