For Shirley McLean, a landlord who has been a longstanding member of Property118, it was time to act. She initially became a landlord alongside her husband, who had been a builder but retired. “We decided it would be nice just to have a little boat hole in Scotland. And in order to finance that, we thought if we bought some to-lets that would basically pay for our holiday home and we could be a part of the community.” That was in 2002.
