We’ve been with our letting agent 5 years and without warning or notice they tell me they’ve sold our contract and the landlords contract too another letting agency. Can my letting agency sell my contract to another letting agency

Could you tell me if this is legal as I or my landlord have not signed anything with the new agency?

Thank you

Scott

Hi Scott

I'm guessing you are the tenant?

If so, you have no say in who manages the property that you are living in, save for moving out of course.

However, your landlord does have a say in the matter so he needs to check his contract with the agency to see what it says about assignment and termination.

Hi mark
I didn't mention it is a short hold tenancy agreement and they gave us no notice of taking over
plus this agreement is for 3 years or less anything more should be drawn up as a deed
plus we haven't signed anything
surly we have a say
my landlord is very upset with the situation and wants to terminate the contract as he has no signed agreement with them but they are threatening him With legal action
can you please advise
