If you’re a ‘corporate’ - ie PRS properties are held in a company then one would assume so.

If not, then maybe not.

I suspect the likes of Grainger, Property Partner, Legal & General etc stand to lose many millions compared to their projected pipeline if S24 doesn’t happen. And those folk may be able to exert a lot more pressure on Downing St than your average small time encumbered landlord.

The above mortgages were ones that the company which Hammond has an ‘interest’ in has/had, with only one of them now outstanding. Although company BTL borrowing will not be affected by S24 anyway, the reason I copied the above is that I discovered that one very vocal and smug LL on the ‘hate forum’ who actively supports S24.. actually used to have mortgages himself, but was able to pay them off. If that very same LL had had S24 to contend with, they would have found it much harder to have paid down those mortgages and would perhaps not be feeling quite so smug about themselves now?

Since the description of the business is" Development of Building Projects" it is probable that 16 properties have been bought and sold with the aid of mortgages since the formation of the company and number 17 is outstanding pending completion of a current project .It does not look like a BTL business to me

More important to me than the new chancellor being specifically a landlord is if he/she has run their own business. Taking risks with their own skin in the game.

Unlike Osborne and his team of geography students.

I don't need preferential treatment, just fairness.

Hi Barry - haven't you noticed that he is already working overtime? Suddenly so positive about Britain after Brexit? Working on new deals? Cutting corporate tax? This man has no dignity or honour, Desperately clinging to power - disgusting.

Hi
Further to my comment above. They may not take up this issue because most replies are similar to the below.I have sent it to my own MP's before therefore there is no problem there.

Many thanks for taking the time to contact me. This is an automatic reply to acknowledge that I have received your email safely.

I receive many emails and letters each day and would appreciate your patience whilst I try to respond to your email as quickly as possible. If you are contacting me about an urgent casework issue then I will make sure to prioritise this over policy-related concerns. Where there is widespread interest in a particular policy matter, I will post a statement of my position on my website.

There is a strict parliamentary protocol which prevents members from taking up issues on behalf of the constituents of their colleagues. If you are a constituent of Louth & Horncastle, please ensure you have included the following details as I will need these for my records in order to respond:

- Full name
- Full postal address
- Contact telephone number
- Any relevant reference numbers

If you have not already done this then please re-send your original email with these details included.

With many thanks,

Victoria Atkins MP
Member of Parliament for Louth & Horncastle
House of Commons
