It's Quantum housing policy.

Far too complicated for us to understand, but what George Osborne has decided is that by changing property ownership from Landlords to Homeowners he solves the housing crisis by creating more housing.

It's not even funny it's so utterly stupid. I think renters and those unable to secure lending ought to be utterly petrified about the future, more so than Landlords.

I also received a request fo donation to th econservatives from George Osborne - or at least from his email address and with his signature. I replied thus:

Dear George

You must be bereft of emotional intelligence, George. Turkeys don’t vote for Chrismas.

I am a small time, conscientious, BTL Landlord who has worked hard at providing decent accommodation to those who can’t or don't want to buy a house of their own on the one hand, and, so I don’t need to rely on the state in my old age on the other. You have resolved to tax me and my livelihood 'out of existence' using the might of the state to enact unfair and discriminatory policies.

Now you ask me for a donation. What cheek, what idiocy. Would have been funny if it weren’t so serious a matter.

Get stuffed, my friend.

Ha ha. 'Get stuffed' is the new catchphrase. I sent this today:

'For Christ's sake, stop pestering me! George Osborne is the worst politician I can imagine. He has no idea how to run the economy. It's a flipping joke. Why don't you put me in charge? I've got a History degree, a Maths O' Level and no qualifications in economics so that should equip me as much as him.
Or we can do a deal: I'll throw you a few quid if you tell him to reverse his obscene attacks on landlords that are going to ruin lives of landlords, tenants and others across the country and exacerbate the 'housing crisis' he should be helping to solve.
Frankly, he can take a running jump. Or, get him to pay the taxes his family firm has avoided paying for years - that should help your bleeding coffers. Don't come to me - I'll be paying tax on 'fictitious profit' soon, thanks to him (you couldn't make this stuff up). And you're all going along with it, like the Emperor's new clothes... Some of you should stand up to him. He's a nasty, conniving piece of work (in my opinion!)'

Quite disappointed that I haven't received a request for a donation. I would so enjoy conjuring up one hell of a loaded reply.

Tell me, are you guys all party members? Why have I been left out??

I have no idea why I keep getting them, Rachel. I've never been a member. Maybe they put me on the mailing list as a result of one of the many letters I've sent to them. As you say, at least it gives me a regular opportunity to give them what for. Ridiculous load of cowardly idiots that they are. Someone should be big enough to keep telling GO that he has got this completely arse-backwards until the fool listens.

That's just it isn't it. He is the one of the gang leaders, and everyone is too scared to tell him he is wrong. The consequences are that he keeps having to U-turn since he clearly won't entertain honest, considered, informed opinion.

I can think of the following learned persons / institutions who've presented exellent evidence to reason that C24 is wrong:

1. Prof Ros Becks (can't recall the name properly, but that's quite near I believe - sounds very clever)
2. Treasury Select Committee
3. London School of Economics
4. ....

Could we possibly develop this list, and publish it as qualified opposition to C24?

Please could everyone to add to the list those who've published arguments against C24.

Hey, Rachel, I'm not a professor, just a doctor! You can call me 'professor' though, if you like. I've been called worse.

Only a Dr. ??

I'm afraid you'll have to move into place behind LSE. But perhaps above the Treasury Select Committee.

1. LSE
2. Dr. Ros
3. Treasury Select Committee
4. ....?

I'm sure there have been quite a few articles from well respected institutions against C24. Can anyone help out?

Anyone good at the crowd funding thing?

We need to put our money where our mouths are and rather than voicing our concerns here, we need to voice them in every newspaper!

Pretty sure GO doesn't read this forum but he might read the papers or at last some of his buddies will...... Maybe even TV ads!

Action is needed now! Lets employ a marketing guru with influence between us to strike where we need to?

Hi Ros and Rachel. Im an elected Conservative councillor - a source of huge embarrassment and regret, I can tell you - yet astonishingly they never ever ask me! It's a crying shame as Im desperate to send a similar reply. Maybe I'll just send one in anyway for fun! 🙂
