I support crowd funded media / press advertising national campaign. Tenant Tax led adverts!

Yea but David, but your tenants have home made beds... slight not fortnum and Mason so you may be on the roguish side - sorry to have to share that with you. Ha!

The is issue is that if you have a mouthpiece you can say what you want without fear of reproach & smearing is good business when it comes to your competition.

We are being outclassed at every junction with media exposure and we should run our own campaign to enlist the masses who don't yet know or understand what the Tenant Tax is and how it will effect us all. We should set the record straight sighting the bias where we find it and let them fight back rather than us always being on the back foot and in the shadows.

Here is a a great attempt by portico to share info with its large database. Which, in my opinion makes it worse unless you actually understand the changes properly and fully.

Sure setting up is £15 and accountants fees are c£500 - £1000pa but the change of ownership for me is a one off tax bill of c£1m in stamp duty and capital gains tax. I don't have that money and if I did i would not give it to the treasury willingly when a ticket to Malta is just £250.

Sure, if you only have one property and no other job you may not be affected. But if that is the case you are probably living on bread and water already. Most i would suggest will soon be a higher rate tax payer because rents are to be considered gross income and added to all other income to become taxable income. That being the case, one will exceed the 42K threshold and probably will lose ones child benefit and maybe even ones personal allowance.

I get what portico are saying and maybe what they are trying to do but gosh it is incompetent and unprofessional because it is full of errors and holes and misunderstanding & so propagates the misconceptions about Tenant Tax - the impact, who will be impacted and how hard it will impact everyone - landlords, tenants, benefactors and associated trade!

What do we have to do to get the definitive piece on this so that it is clear for all to understand?

I would be happy to invest in anything that gets our story out there - anybody know how to get this going?

Time is of the essence!!!!

Maybe one of the more eloquent members of 118 could drop the legal team at Argent a note about the idiot that they let out to tarnish the PRS with his ignorant comments.

Argent's founder is a Tory party donor...

“Michael and Clara Freeman: Mr Freeman is the co-founder of property developers Argent Group plc, while Mrs Freeman is a former director of Marks and Spencer. Both have their own charitable trust. Mr Freeman has donated £457,900 to the [Conservative] party since June 2006.”

But before incorporating with portico et al, be aware of what was mentioned here on Wed, http://www.propertytribes.com/removal-of-interest-relief-for-corporate-lls-t-127624029.html

Hey Argent will house all the homeless, the Biffa bin sleepers, migrants, and those that can't find anywhere to rent as the PRS LLS ARE SPOOKED by Gideon's antics.

Argent don't charge much rent - do they............?

http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/news/article-3473707/Buy-let-boom-threatens-economy-says-Bank-official-landlords-spark-house-price-decline-decide-sell.html

Seems BTL have pushed prices up. Now we are selling en-masse and spooking the market. And house prices are set to double in 14 years.

Fewer places to rent, more demand, for those that can delerage enough to survive should have healthy profits with even less competition around.
