Surprise Surprise, the HPC delusionists (who repeatedly & erroneously seem to claim that ALL X million ‘private’ LLs are incapable of understanding simple maths, whilst they completely accept Osborne’s LL mates are mathematical and moral geniuses of the highest order without question) are promoting the article on their own forum and already filling the comments section beneath Telegraph article with their usual (and always exceptionally shallow) gibberish.

They are all garbage Jim. A coalition is the only plausible option going forward until they get a grip of themselves. That way at least they can be kept in check between themselves and not go on a mission forcing aragont policy change they have no manifesto for and were not elected to do.

Just in my little example I bought and refurbed 8 houses last year employing labourers, plasterers, plumbers electricians, a roofer, a gardener mortgage broker, solicitors two sets, carpet fitter , damp course specialist, painter and decorator structural engineer the list is endless

I now have many of these people ringing me asking where the work is some of them haven't got much on etc.

Due to clause 24 I have halted buying and am sitting tight thus not using all of these trades. This has a knock on effect as they have less money to spend due to lack of work meaning less money spent in the economy hence damaging it on wider scale, that is how the economy is being damaged as I guess this is happening all over the country as this tax grab is affecting most landlords.

Am I right ?

Hi Jon

Could you explain the fairness go clause 24 please ? As I fail to see any fairness in it whatsoever

Also in my little world I refurbed several houses last year to let many tinned up, sometimes I have two going at once

Last year I gave regular work to brokers , solicitors , labourers , decorators , electricians , plumbers , roofers , carpet / laminate fitters , plasterers , kitchen fitters , structural engineers , surveyors , landscape gardeners , window fitters the list goes on. Many of these I have used for years and years.

Since clause 24 I have stopped buying and decided to sit on my hands meaning a lot of my regular tradesmen are on the phone asking where the work is as many are quiet. This is where the wider economy is being and going to be affected as this is replicated around the country, which I would guess it is these tradespeople will have less money in their pockets meaning less money spent in the economy for example in my local a lot of the regulars are not in as much due to lack of work etc.

This is where the economy will be affected as small investors / developers like myself stop investing meaning less work for the above trades. Does the government think first time buyers will plug the gap ? I really think not as in my experience most ftb want a house ready made

Is it fair to tax on money that isn't in your bank account ? Is it fair to treat induvidual landlords different to large corporates ? Is it fair to let a graduate influence government taxation that affects millions ?
