If that s what was intended, it might be happening, so not the cause of a HPC.

"Brokers have seen a surge in applications for buy-to-let loans from limited companies as landlords prepare for tax hikes starting in April.

The latest Buy-to-Let Index from specialist broker Mortgages for Business found that 38 per cent of its applications by December 2015 were from limited companies, up from 15 per cent in October - the month before the tax change was announced in the Autumn Statement."

New Dividend Tax Changes April 2016

I've just become aware of the new changes to company dividend tax, coming into force in April 2016. Is this a move to hit those incorporating their property business also?

Great info on this and link to petition at bottom of page here http://www.rossmartin.co.uk/directors/tax-efficient-remuneration/1591-summer-budget-2015-dividend-tax

Here is the dividend tax petition link for every one to sign and share: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/106525

I'm going to be sharing this with my employer to be in turn distributed among suppliers and customers.

George Osborne is a ludicrous, small-business hating backstabber. Unless his party grasps the universal scale of his destructive policy ideas, he will, in the fullness of time, offend and drive away most of its core vote to UKIP.

I need to evaluate now in my specific set of circumstances, whether it's better to be hit by new buy to let tax rules or dividends, whichever is the lesser evil...

I suspect many landlords are also SME directors, and where they are not incorporated specifically for property, will therefore be hit by all the changes.

Correct, I will be hit both ways anyhow, although my ltd company is not connected currently to BTL market, my forward planning did. So in my case will have to see which tax is best to pay, for the way I operate my BTL's. If anyone cares to do a high earner comparison, that can offer some light on this.
