Ok. Chris, don't you think it makes sense to incorporate for next 9/10 years at least as Jeremy Corbyn is unlikely to be strong contender and it is likely that Tories are to hold power in election post 2020 and since they have vested interest in Corporations they are very unlikely to hit them which makes incorporations a safe bet.

Hi Saeef - possibly, though I think incorporating, and transferring properties is a complex issue. Therefore a comprehensive appraisal of that strategy, and any other options is crucial before deciding on what to do. As others have said - perhaps a combination of strategies may be the answer.

Shared on Facebook aswell. He is such a slimy git, blinding people with BS for his own political gain and short term revenue to make the books look good before passing the mess onto someone else.

I wouldn't be surprised if the March bombshell is higher CGT only applying to the private rental sector and rent controls which only apply to the private rental sector, so as to trap landlords for longer and extract more tax.

Selling is not always as easy as it sounds. Since the huge fall in house prices, my entire portfolio is still in negative equity (used to be around 70% LTV), so selling is not an option as my rents are my only source of income.

Lord Lamont raised concerns regarding blocks of flats left empty in London and about the foreign investors. Didnt get much support on this.

Didnt catch the name but I think it was a lord and I was pleased that he questioned about all the debt going onto families as mortgages and if interest rates went up they would be struggling.
Martin Wolf Kate Barker dismissed this. Martin wolf said that much would be government debt and it would only by 8% GDP
Martin Wolf wanted a rental sector and was strongly against the selling off of social housing. Kate baker was concerned that the poorest would not be able to buy and it put higher income buyers at an advantage. Walker said that social rents was at 60% and it would be cheaper to give people 40% loans for them to buy.

They want some form of land tax ref planning but Katie Barker didnt seem to go with this. All seem to agree incentives to councils might help with getting the houses in, lower council tax . Walker suggested councils keeping SDLT.
Wolf wanted to build in the greenbelt. They want to double the council tax for all homes which are empty. They want to get people to downsize from the larger homes.
They liked the idea about the small builders and the council selling off serviced plots.
They agreed that they have a labour shortage. Wolf said if the government said that 500,000 houses was needed then it could be done. Quote about what was acheived in the war.

One to use on Kate Barker she said the social housing providers had many difficult tenants!

They were saying Social sector was not efficent enough and was holding vast amounts of monies.

Reply to that was they needed a buffer due to the cuts in rents.

Martin Wolf said direction was needed so many changes etc...

They beleive the standards are higher and they are more efficent.
Also from a tax view they think that lots of us are not paying tax and it will tidy the sector up. Mind you I doubt if the corporates will pay tax.
