Just for information - nothing new - just that the Guild of Residential Landlords has sent out a mailshot showing what C24 means with one example. It might catch a few more landlords and bring them in to the twilight world (that's what this bloody thing feels like):

No need to make any provision for extra claimants, just cut benefits. The they'll starve (with any luck) or end up on the streets (GO and his cronies can have washed off with water cannon if they start to look untidy) and won't be a problem to the Treasury.

Perhaps it would be a good time to retrain as an undertaker or a food bank delivery driver.

I have just had a conversation with a fellow landlord concerning clause 24. Initially he was not concerned as he was nowhere near a higher rate taxpayer. When he fully understood the implication panic set in; he now realises that he is liable to lose everything he has built up over the last 30 years unless he takes drastic and expensive action. I have a suspicion he will sign the petition!

Undertakers is a very good job to be in if thats your cup of tea.

funeral costs arei going up 7% a year. Burial plots are even better really hard to get

I think that there are still lots of LLs who are not aware of the proposed tax changes and/or don't think it'll affect them.
