That nice Mr Osborne sent me a post-conference speech email, asking me to comment on his Facebook page. It would be rude not to, really, wouldn't it? https://www.facebook.com/GeorgeOsborneOfficial

Laura, Well done on finding the info regarding MP's income etc. I will be scanning through when time permits and make a list of potential candidates.

I think another target list should include tory rebels. i.e. MP's who have voted against government.

According to a telegraph article below, the top seven tory rebels who voted against the government are as follows:

Philip Hollobone, David Nuttall, Philip Davies, Peter Bone, Christopher Chope, Andrew Turner and Zac Goldsmith

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/general-election-2015/politics-blog/11596824/How-much-trouble-will-the-Tory-rebels-cause-David-Cameron.html

Interestingly, I have already had a long email exchange in the past with David Nuttall and failed to convince him that clause 24 is wrong. However, that doesn't mean someone can't convince him and I would encourage people to email him as he does respond quickly.

Michelle Thomas MP who is sitting on the Committee for the Summer Finance Bill owns 10 buy to let properties as well as a property management company.

Although I believe she is currently under suspicion/investigation for some kind of mortgage fraud!

Been thinking.
Yes - we must reach & engage as many influential people (MP's, Councillors, Chambers of Commerce etc) as possible but we must immediately prioritise engaging our own landlord community to sign the e-petition first & foremost (& the letting/managing agent community) & have them join us in our quest. There are approx 1.4m landlords who have not yet signed the e-petition & who no doubt are not even aware of clause 24 let alone understand its implications.
IDEA 1) - Let's assume we get only 10 of us (hopefully more) engaged & committed enough to take responsibility for:-
a) getting a further 2 people to understand clause 24 and....
b) getting them to sign the e-petition & join Property118 (forum for help) and....
c) getting them to each commit to doing the same ie each of our line of 2 are to get 2 more landlords or letting agents to understand clause 24, sign the e-petition & each engage 2 more.
d) then we each need to check that our 2 have carried out a), b), c) and d) ie they've also checked that their line of 2 has done a) b) c) and d) so on down the line.
A bit like pyramid selling but much easier as each person in the line is only tasked with engaging 2 people to do a) to d) which is highly manageable/doable and gives instant results/gratification.
By line 15 we would collectively have got over 655,000 more landlords/agents engaged & signed up (more if more than 10 of us commit to this - for every 1 extra person we engage potentially a further 65,536 e-petitioners)
IDEA 2):- Does anyone have a teenager that knows how to ensure a message goes viral? (I only have a dog & Kathy has already evidenced how thick I am with technology!)
IDEA 3):- FAO Mark Alexander - does Property118 have a lawyer member who can advise/guide us on our rights over this "Tax Inequity" & whether this could be deemed as unfair (I doubt unlawful) discrimination treatment?
IDEA 4) Manchester Landlord has kindly offered to scour the list of MP's financial interests to see if we can target our market better. If you need help ML, let us know.
IDEA 5) Once we've engaged more landlords/agents under IDEAS 1) to 4), should we & can we form a Trade Union?
IDEA 6) Is there anyone in Property118 who has the time & nouse to scour for intelligence ie to understand the bigger picture in the UK & EU with regards Social Housing & it's impact on the PRS landlord community & whether we have any rights & if so, how best to go about fighting this War ie the long game whilst we fight the short game battles eg clause 24?
Thoughts anyone?

I have found most MP's own investment properties of some kind. A lot of MP's have shares in property investment/development companys as well as family trust that hold property. The list below is MP's that hold 4 or more residential investment properties:

Jake Berry
Bob Blackman
Jo Churchill
Geoffrey Clifton
Richard Drax
Kevin Hollindrake
Michael Meacher
Craig Whittaker
Michelle Thomas
Nadhim Zahawi
Tasmin Ahmed-Sheikh
Richard Benyon

My MP is Christopher Chope. I have written to him 3 times (at least) and only had one reply being the standard one from Mr Gauke.
However someone on this thread, a few weeks ago, referred to a question raised by Chris Chope regarding Clause 24. I can't find it on the Parliament website, so not sure what he said.

I am about to write again to C Chope along with J Redwood, and of course I will be posting something on GO's facebook page.
