Saeef. I don't know what abusive comments you made to me, - I have only been nice to you. But you are totally out of order. I haven't stopped with my work on this campaign, and I did, briefly, see your suggestion earlier that I contact Zac Goldsmith, but as I don't live in London, I don't think there would be much point. I was also prioritising finalising my submissions to the Public Committee on the Finance Bill and also sending emails to journalists. It is easy to suggest that other people do things. I try to just get on with it and do them myself, if I have an idea. Don't insult me again. I'm not used to it on this site and I don't expect it.

Ros, I can understand your frustration however Saeef is equally making efforts to get this campaign going.

Although, I do not condone those comments made by him of an acceptable standard however sometimes our passion gets better of us.

For you to ignore his request which did not seem too onerous a simple task of forwarding an email in fact is quite insulting.

As a matter of fact, London is heart of financial hub and a pioneer of buy to let, and for you to ignore it's importance which always has rippling affect on rest of country is plain ignorance.

No predujice intended.

Yes, sexist men often hide behind the idea that they have a 'sense of humour.' It's a very invidious comment that you make, which says a lot about you. From what I can see of the moderated comment, there was also an implicit suggestion that if a man suggested I do something that I should jump. I don't jump for anyone. I may just ignore further crap about this, as I have more important things to do than respond to sexist nonsense. It's an unnecessary distraction. And downright nasty.
And now I note that you've added another comment. Please go away and leave me alone. If you think it is important to focus on London, then focus on it. And don't talk nonsense about me insulting people.I'm not paid a penny to do this campaigning and I don't appreciate being undermined by people who have not given any evidence that they have done anything.

Hey!

This is all detracting from what is important.

Nobody should be insulting anyone.

We are all trying to do our best.

Ros, I am at dismay to see that you have taken exception to my intervention, I can assure you that, my intentions were not to sound like a sexist but to straighten your way of thinking.

So that, I am clear with your way of thinking, are your suggesting that London should not form part of same campaigning as seemingly you seem to suggest that London is under different territory/legislation?

I am absolutely flabbergasted.

Hi all,

Sorry for lull as neighbour needed help, then internet issues, so have only just realised the row on here. Let's stay focused on the real fight here, as Lisa suggested.

It's sometimes difficult to answer straight away as emails are also being sent. Ros and others have been working hard on the submissions before the deadline. This involves several drafts and revisions. They are so detailed and technical that I feel a spare part and that my contributions are not needed! Then I try to be helpful by researching or just reading up on things others have found & trying to get ideas.

The truth is that I'm sure this campaign would not have had the momentum it's had if nobody took notice of one another. The respect & encouragement from people on here have kept each other going; very important for morale. Contributions are so important, but please understand that Ros has a huge amount of work. On top of the submissions, she's also drafting emails to international newspapers.

I'm astounded by her dedication, and it is very stressful, too. I could barely keep up with the submissions as draft after draft were churned out by some members on here! My brain just about frazzled!

Mark Alexander has written on the Facebook housing campaign page of Zac Goldsmith. It's a good start, but perhaps the London landlords here could follow that up with details of our campaign and individual effects of the tax. I don't know very much about Mr Goldman, as I'm no longer in London and lost track of the city's politics, but please take this opportunity to contact him. Dom, you've contacted him several times, but I wonder whether he'll be more willing to answer when it's more public, such as his Facebook page?

It is my understanding that MPs are not interested in repyling to anyone outside their constituency and will refer you back to your own local MP , we all need to be writing to our own MPs. Playground squabbles have no place here. Let us move on.
