Hi Saeef, Zac Goldsmith is my MP. I have written to him 3 times, the last one being my version of Jerry's letter. The first two letters generated the standard non committal responses. I'm still awaiting his reply to my last email.
As previously posted, I think letting agents are very important in spreading the word to LL who are still unaware of these proposals. I've emailed several in my area and had one personal positive response. None have committed to spreading the word.
They really don't realise how detrimental the changes will be to their own businesses do they?

I've just written to Peter Hitchens at the Sunday Mail (for the second time - if at first you don't succeed, etc.) He wrote in his column today: '...the people who run this country are so stupid that they believe their own propaganda,' so I hooked my email onto that and referred him to the Dyson article.
Also, following the suggestion of someone the other day, I wrote to Martin Lewis with the same links.
Just to let people know, we have also made 4 submission so far to the Public Committee on the Finance Bill and more will be following.

Ros, thanks for ignoring my post. It seems as if your head is stuck ** MODERATED **, no wonder you are camera shy.

Typical example of an **MODERATED** woman!

Reply to the comment left by "James Tallis" at "22/08/2015 - 22:57":

Hello James Tallis,

Thank you for posting anyway. I suppose anyone who sticks out their neck in the public domain these days would be open to derision.

Some people really do hate landlords and I expect they always will. Unless we can walk in other people's shoes, we cannot understand other people (Atticus Finch, not me).

I read an article about a billionaire who lost everything including his family mansion; spiralling private school fees and risky investments being major factors. I did wonder whether ordinary people were able to sympathise and I did conclude that for some it will only be possible if they were to experience an equivalent loss or change of luck or circumstances, as some people lack the imagination and ability to empathise. It's human nature to relish others' misfortunes for some people.

No doubt some readers of the article featuring me are unable to see beyond an ethnic minority buying up "English" properties, and serves her right to be taxed so disproportionately, even though I was born in Newcastle!

Perception can be very difficult to change. I hope none of the people who left nasty comments ever have to experience the same trepidation or uncertainty as these thousands of fellow landlords all over the country are feeling right now.

Thank you, Dom and Saeef. I'm having a read now to see what his policies are.

Hi Mark, I have posted you a link, which is slightly different to Dom's link, I think he has couple of articles however for some reason it has not pulled through in this forum.
