Telegraph, is normally associated with Tory voters. For Duncan as a journalist to take this issue up shows that the GO has attacked the hands that has fed the Tory party with its core voters.

Thanks for that Saeef. However as we all know, this is a team effort and I don't think I can remember when I last saw a team working like this together. It's a stupendous effort by all concerned, and as the only person I've ever met from anyone here is Mark (albeit briefly), it just goes to show how people can pull together over significant distances.

Power to the internet!!

Good articles...particularly the one about the death of buy to let. Just occurred to me my new sister in law of 5 days is the product manager for the guardian online finance section....I'll ask her if any of the editors will have an interest in this story

That's right John. How's rental and Sales market doing in Peterborough? I have heard it is one of property hot spot?

What would you say, typical rental yield is at the moment?

I've just been talking to my neighbour who works for ITV as a political journalist and commentator - I showed him the article and explained everything and he is going to approach his contacts in ITV and the BBC. I'm camera shy, so are there any volunteers in my neck of the woods - South Wales - willing to be interviewed on camera - if it comes to that?

Hi all,

I did say I wouldn't be representing all landlords, especially those whose businesses will no longer be viable. I may be seen as just dabbling in this, although being a landlord has been a dream and aspiration for years. I certainly will not be gravely affected by the tax, but in principle I think even those affected by a little ought to be fighting it.
Richard Dyson was constrained by words and had to be selective. The whole point was not to show the landlords who make a huge amount of money as the aim is to gain public sympathy and turn the tide of envy / mistrust / hatred built up over decades. Hopefully, this will relate to many, as there are many landlords who got into this for a wide range of reasons, especially during the recession and becoming one 'accidentally''. The related articles should give a better idea of those who will lose far more than me.

Please see this as only the start of articles relating to landlords. Hopefully, other papers will pick up on this issue and feature more stories on landlords who have been doing this for 20+ years, their sacrifices, tenants, etc, and readers will be more receptive rather than gloating.

And Shekeel, my sister who studied business and finance has only just found out that I'm a landlord. She'll be devastated that I've invested all my savings and now face this tax, though I'm hoping she'll also bail me out - lol. In any case, I'm glad she read it in the Telegraph and it was sensitively written.

Whilst the issue is hot, and journalists think they can sell papers, let's capitalise on the attention and make sure we succeed in making mad George ditch the tax.

There should be an article, which could read as "Chancellor wants to create level playing field at Landlords expense"

The body of article's opening gambit could read as, if Chancellor is so passionate about creating a Level Playing Field" then perhaps he should bring Miras back to residential owners as opposed to penalising landlords unfairly.

I'll probably put something together and send it to Richard Dyson.
