Although most estate agents stick their head into the sand, I think they know the score - they have the recent recession still in their minds, so I hope they'll ignore comments on the contrary.

Those whom I have spoken to in person began to understand. Those who have set up shop recently with the wind of recovery behind them will fear this more than the estate agents working for big mutibranch companies. The manager of Lawson Rose in Portsmouth signed the petition straight away and passed it round as I suggested.

This link will really help. I'm going to get on and email it to estate agents now.

Doing my bit for the London Landlord Massive; I have your backs. (Any of you noticed the poshed-up Foxtons look like poshed-up McDonalds? Or did Maccy D try to emulate Foxtons? The eternal question: which plush chairs came first?)

As I was doing so, I regretted not having dabbled in the following:
1) cloning
2) creating computer viruses
3) computer hacking
4) dating a computer hacker

Thank goodness for cut-and-paste and the internet anyway.

This, too:

It’s not landlords the Chancellor has screwed, it’s tenants

Article Posted - 8 Jul 2015

Responding to the Chancellor’s Budget announcement to restrict the rate of mortgage interest relief the basic rate of 20% from 2017, Richard Lambert, Chief Executive Officer, National landlords Association (NLA), said:

“The Chancellor’s unwavering commitment to homeownership blinds him to the impact of the policies he proposes on the hard-working people he claims to champion.

“This move does nothing (to) support wider housing provision and will ultimately make Mr Osborne responsible for adding £840 per year – or £70 per month – to rents”.

Reply to the comment left by "Saeef Khan" at "16/08/2015 - 12:17":

Not at all saeef. In fact ....up until last year I was the owner of housepricerecovery.com....A site I set up to have a dig at housepricecrash....It was up for about 7 years....except postive focused sites just don't have the sa.e traction as negative ones so I closed it down last year. There are different landlord profile dynamics. ....btl...is just one part of my portfolio ....only one property in fact ...but it is a high value one. Pensions, isas, and my own company forms other parts of my retirement planing. My comments about the government attacking btl was not one I made because it's something I wished for....as it affects my plans going forward to a degree but one I made because all other areas of my investments have been targeted to date....and buy to let was the glaringly obvious next target. I take a keen interest in markets and politics and understand that in the real world the two are tightly coupled.

I received an email from Daniel Peacock at Property Secrets this morning:

Hi

Thank you for this, we are currently looking into doing an article on this important subject.

Best regards

Daniel

I replied:

Hi Daniel

That's good to know. I hope it appears soon, so that those who will be affected can contact their MP's about it before the Budget debate.

Kind regards
