I believe a good name for the new proposed tax should be called "Landlord Punishment Tax" - as that's how it feels. We cant do anything about the Mortgage debt that is outstanding and the more we have of it the more we will be punished - and also punished further when interest rates rise! What they don't acknowledge is that this debt is there - so that houses could be purchased in order to satisfy the large demand for rental houses.
