Brexit effect on BTL?

With just a few weeks to go to the in/out referendum I’d be interested to learn of any thoughts as to the likely effect on BTL and property prices in general.Brexit

Google the subject and there are as many different opinions as articles but the one thing that does become clear is that no-one seems to be particularly sure.

Thanks.

Stephen.

Exactly, if Spain exports tonnes of fruit and veg to the UK every year they are not going to stop just because we are not in the EU they still need our custom. Hopefully it will help the British growers as well.

I find the EU VAT regulations far too onerous, so now my company won't sell digital goods to the EU at all. We have clients in Australia, USA, South Africa etc instead. And I believe that those VAT regulations are going to be extended to physical goods and services as well. Still more red tape.

Romain, we don't want to Romain in the EU as we at best have 1 / 27th of a vote and have NO influence and NO prospect of changing a governing elite once you give them power. You're stuffed and I hope no one else thinks like you as you and they are dangerous.

We like Democracy, self determination, the ability and FREEDOM to trade with whom we like and we dont want to be part of a trade body who is in decline, losing 17% of our export business to the EU since 1999. Its a declining business and we are growing significantly our trade with non EU countries who love us and combined (the commonwealth countries that the EU convinced us to stuff and walk away from) are a much bigger and more progressive trading body than the EU and dont have a plethora of ridiculous bureaucratic nonsense for us to adhere too. Nor do they demand £55,000,000 a day as membership. Sounds ridiculous doesn't it?

Outstanding argument.

That's the problem with the so-called debate on this referendum.

Erm - hate to dampen down these lively comments and great to know people are interested BUT - the original question was the effect on BTL. Please try to keep on topic?

Well, the trouble with any discussion about almost any topic these days is bound to stray into the Referendum subject because everything we do is associated in some way to the political situation and the influence that the EU has on almost every area of life in this country. The BTL market is one area that is actually not covered by EU rules as far asI know, but you can bet your bottom dollar, it soon will be. That is why the mission creep that the whole organisation carries out all the time is pernicious and we need to get the hell out of it. Anybody who has worked in a beaurocracy knows that empire- building is the first order of the day. Cameron hasn't got a clue I am afraid and his pathetic little bit of Munich paper waving is a joke.in itself. How bloody demeaning, going off to Brussels begging for some irrelevant little concessions from a bunch of ex-communists and super-annuated socialist politicians like the Kinnocks. You can't make this stuff up, to coin a phrase.
