Anyone else had free central heating and insulation from Eco-flex scheme?

Anyone else had free central heating and insulation from Eco-flex scheme?

Hi all, I’m always sceptical of these so-called ‘eco schemes’ and grant. Although having heard they’re in the last phases of funding, I thought it was an option worth exploring especially if the government wants to splash out on my property on my behalf 😊.

I have a few rentals dotted around the south wales area and have looked into a few agents that can help, was recommended this one by a close friend they operate throughout the UK (checked the Swansea council page they are approved there too)

He shared the link https://form.jotform.com/202074917787364 with me and they got back to me pretty sharpish, within the month I had a brand new central heating system, internal and external wall insulation (I had the option of either) it’s saved me an absolute fortune.

Has anyone else benefited from this?

Mark

I had approx 45 free top spec Vaillant boilers fitted 2013 2014.
I'd say get good middle man that operates between u & the fitter & funder, as the funders are sometimes so remote, u think are they human.
Just lately, funding harder, my man can get free boilers if electric heating in the house or is it free electric heating, I can't remember what he said last week when he rang me, as not much applies to me now. You got to quite often now, have no heating in the house, & then wait months for all the paperwork to be done, & I can't expect any of my tenants to wait that long.
But yes if u can get the free stuff, not many catches, just watch the quick fitters at the end who can sometimes take short cuts cause they thing U getting it free, what does it matter, yet we have to live with this years down the line.
I've had loads of outside & loft insulation & cavity insulation too.

is there one definitive site to find out about all this? I've heard about different things available but all at different roll out times - can't get my head round it all!

Funding is available for first time central heating if moving from electric including the gas connection... The New Green Homes Grant that is being launched is great to future proof your portfolio for energy efficiency standards especially if the tenant is on a low income, it's £10k per property without any contribution.

I may have got this wrong but wasn't only a few months ago the government's longer term stated aim to phase out gas for heating domestic premises and replace it with electricity?

Wow,

Including the Gas connection too. The admin on that alone is worth £1000 to me.

In early May I applied for two different grants - one for putting in mains gas and one for putting in central heating in a flat that I own and rent out. Currently the heating is electric, old and expensive and tenants are quite poor. I haven't had a reply from either of the funding bodies. The mains gas is going in today and the gas central heating next week, so I'm paying for it all in the meantime. Can't find anyway of getting hold of a human being to find out whether I'm actually eligible and what sort of grant they might be prepared to give. Any suggestions?
