I do not think there is going to be ANY good news in any budget for a smaller Landlord. Ever.
As someone wrote on a different discussion we are an easy cash cow for Rishi-shishi and Co. And there is absolutely no need to change that.
The only consolation will probably be an anticipated high influx of the former Commonwealth Citizens who will be coming in here under the new trade deals, which surely will include some sort of freedom of movement.
That will be useful because the EU citizens left and there is an increasing problem with finding good tenants right now.

If the anticipated 300,000 Hong Kong residents come over here then this will create a much higher demand. That's the governments estimate based on the 4,000,000 who will have the right to apply for UK residency, of the 7,000,000 current Hong Kong residents.

Yes, from the LLs point of view it is very good. Depending of course where they will come. Judging what the CCP is doing there, the infux might be much much greater (my son and his HK wife live in HK at the moment).

Governments don't have a good track record when it comes to estimates of migrants when immigration rights change.

Perhaps we should lobby for tax rebates equating to all the lost rent caused by inability to evict? ie the government paying 100% compensation to landlords? "is that not 'doing the right thing?' in supporting the nation in a time of crisis?"
